Time for Some Independent Leadership in Holmdel

After witnessing the underhanded and, possibly illegal,
dealings of Mayor Hinds in Holmdel, it’s clearly time to bring some independent
and transparent leadership to the Township Committee.

That’s why I’m supporting Cathy Weber and Prakash Santhana for Holmdel Township Committee.

After a public referendum to provide $2.5M of funding to
support recreational upgrades for the Holmdel Youth Athletic Association, Mayor
Hinds sought to redirect the funds toward his own pet project of developing
turf fields for use by the private soccer clubs of which he is a leader.

Monies were tucked into the consent budget and attempted to be sneaked through for approval. Money was spent on engineering plans for theturf fields without Township Committee approval.

At best this was unethical dealings, but itmay be misappropriation of funds.

Holmdel deserves better than this kind of leadership.

Cathy Weber’s experience on the Holmdel School Board and as founder of Preserve Holmdel, a group dedicated to preserving the bucolic nature of our town, will bring transparency and focus on
making our town the best it can be.

Prakash Santhana’s experience as a Wharton MBA and as a professional
leader in fraud management will bring a keen mind to ensure that our tax dollars
are not wasted or misdirected and that we get the best leverage of the Bell
Works PILOT program, to ultimately reduce our taxes.

It’s time we have some independent thinking on our Township Committee
to preserve Holmdel, ensure an open forum for our citizens, and focus our
spending on serving all of our residents.
