Two Vehicles Stolen From Residential Driveways: Hazlet PD

Two car thefts have been reported in the past two weeks, according to Hazlet police in a July 14 message to residents.

HAZLET, NJ – Lock your cars or else, warns Hazlet police. In the latest report of car thefts in the area, the Hazlet Township Police Department alert residents to lock cars, take keys and hide belongings to ward off an unwanted intruder.

Following similar reports in Manalapan, Freehold and neighboring Holmdel, Hazlet police took to social media on July 14 to remind locals to stow any valuables, keys and fob out of sight when left unattended.

“STOLEN VEHICLES Lock your car! Take your keys! Hide your belongings! In the last two weeks we have had two of our residents' vehicles stolen out of their driveways in the middle of the night,” Hazlet police wrote on Facebook.

“Please help us prevent these types of thefts by making it a habit to lock your car and take your keys. If you hear or see something suspicious please contact us 24/7. We would rather come out for a false alarm than take a report for a car being stolen.”

The Hazlet Township Police Department requests that any suspicious activity be reported to headquarters at (732) 264-6565.
