5 Things: A Farmer's Market in Hopatcong?

Councilman Mike Francis says it's on the way.

Hopatcong Councilman Mike Francis said at Wednesday night's council meeting that the borough will host a farmers market throughout the summer. Here are five things you need to know about it.

  1. You Need to Know When: The market will take place Sundays from June 17 to Sept. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  2. You Need to Know Where: At the 's parking lot.
  3. You Need to Know About Incentive For Vendors: They won't be charged. "It's going to be free for vendors," Francis said. "It's really done for the community. We'll see where it goes."
  4. You Need to Know Who Has Signed On: Lafayette's Ideal Farm & Garden. Francis said he's still working on getting several other vendors on board.
  5. You Need to Know What Else Benefits: Hosting a farmers market will benefit Hopatcong's Environmental Commission toward its goal of earning the borough .
