Free Coffee at 7-11 on Thursday

Free medium cups o' joe from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

7-11 will offer free medium-sized cups of hot coffee from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.—get it?—on Thursday, or National Coffee Day, according to a company spokesman.

And if you're asking why that's Hopatcong news, it's because there's a 7-11 in Roxbury en route to routes 80, 46 and 10, and tons of borough residents drive past it each day.

Cappuccinos and lattes are also part of the deal.

Here are some 7-11 coffee facts, courtesy of the company:

  • 75% of coffee drinkers admit that having a cup of coffee is part of their daily routine.
  • 7-Eleven was the first retailer to offer fresh-brewed coffee in to-go cups, introducing it in their Northeast stores in 1964.
  • Of all its proprietary products, 7-Eleven sells more fresh-brewed coffee than anything else – 1 million cups each day.  That’s more than 10,000 pots of coffee an hour every hour of every day of the year.
  • Three in four coffee drinkers prefer to fix their own coffee rather than have a barista or food service employee prepare it.
