Baseball: Comeback Chiefs Earn 12th Win

Hopatcong's three-run seventh secures 8-7 victory.

That was the lesson Caldwell learned as the Chiefs won, 8-7, on the road Tuesday afternoon. Their three-run seventh inning erased a 6-5 deficit, pushing Hopatcong to 12-4-1.

D.J. Ross' RBI double highlighted the late rally, which was kept alive when Rob Nadrowski scored via throwing error. Ross finished with three two-baggers. Joe LoBue was a perfect 3-for-3, scoring four runs while smacking a double and a triple.

Caldwell received a 3-for-5 day from Tyler Condit. But it wasn't enough.

Hopatcong leaped out to a two-run first-inning lead. Caldwell gained the one-run advantage in the sixth after tying it up, 5-5, in the fifth.
