Baseball: Hopatcong Finishes Flat, Falls at Home

West Morris Central explodes late, takes 12-8 victory on Thursday.

Hopatcong jumped ahead early on Thursday. But it couldn't maintain the energy in a 12-8 loss to West Morris Central at the Homer Dome. The Chiefs took a 6-4, fifth-inning lead. Then the Wolfpack tied it up in the sixth and exploded for six runs in the seventh. Senior catcher D.J. Ross, who homered in the first and seventh, and junior third baseman Hunter Guard each scored two runs. Hopatcong will play its last regular-season game Tuesday.
