BRIEF: Hopatcong's 9/11 Monument Stands

Workers delivered the monument early Friday in preparation of Sunday's 10th anniversary.

Hopatcong's 9/11 monument arrived in the borough Friday morning, just days before it's set to be unveiled on the 10th anniversary of the attacks.

The photos show the memorial and the firefighter's tribute, which is set to be dedicate in a seperate Oct. 9 ceremony. Department of Public Works Superintendent Ron Jobless said Hopatcong still wanted people to see the tribute.

The memorial features two steel beams from the World Trade Center. It also has a twisted piece of metal from the Twin Towers painted gold and sitting atop a pentagon-shaped marble slab detailing important moments in the attacks.
