Capwell Shows Off at Warrior Dash

Dylan Capwell finished sixth out of 6,960 runners at the Warrior Dash at Lewis Morris Park in Morristown on Saturday.

Capwell, a senior, is widely regarded among the state's top distance runners. The harrier finished second in the state in the 800-meter race at the Meet of Champions in the spring.

But Capwell, who crossed the finish line in 25:55, wasn't the race's sole Hopatcong connection. High school Athletic Director Tom Vara and his wife, Vicki, competed. Tom (35:14) finished No. 294 overall and 38th in his age group of 570. Vicki (35:08) grabbed No. 284 overall and fifth in her age group.

The 3.2-mile Warrior Dash featured 14 obstacles.
