As drivers mature, natural changes to their bodies can affect their driving ability and safety behind the wheel. One thing older drivers can do to adapt to factors that may affect their driving is make individual adjustment to find their best person-to-vehicle fit.
CarFit - a program developed by AAA, AARP and the American Occupational Therapists Association - is a FREE, 15- to 20-minute personal assessment, designed to help an older driver achieve their safest fit. During the assessment, certified technicians will recommend adjustments to help an older driver fit comfortably in their vehicle, enhancing safety.
The Roxbury Township Police Department and AAA are hosting a FREE CarFit event on Tuesday, April 15 from 10 am. - 1 p.m. at the Horsehoe Lake Senior Center (72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna). To register for the event, contact Patrolman Brian Feeney at 973-448-2098.
