Hopatcong was no match for powerful Jefferson, losing big on the Falcons' home course — the Bowling Green Country Club. The two-hour-plus match was played in a steady drizzle, sometimes backing off to just mist.

“It took a tremendous amount of courage on another wonderful, rainy, horrible day to go out on the course and play,” head coach Dominic Schiavone said. “I’m thinking my kids are going to grow webbed feet."
