Guard to Rep Hopatcong in Morris-Sussex Game

Hunter Guard will be Chiefs' lone representative in Wednesday's Sussex-Morris Senior All-Star Game in Hopatcong.

Hunter Guard will have the chance to wear a Moravian College basketball jersey for the next four years.

But the senior will wear his Chiefs No. 23 one last time this week.

Guard will be Hopatcong's sole representative Sussex County takes on Morris County in the annual Senior All-Star Game at Hopatcong High School at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Guard, who in January, was Hopatcong's leading scorer as the Chiefs reached the second round of the North 1, Group 2 playoffs this season.

"He's had a big affect on the program," Hopatcong head coach Jim Tobin said. "If you look at his three years collectively—he was a main part of that.

"He took the proper steps in the program to become the player he was. He was an integral part of what we did. I'm extremely happy with his progress and where he's at. I'm real excited and happy for his future plans."

Guard, a forward who almost scored a career 1,000 points, will hope to lead Sussex to its first victory over Morris in years.
