Gun-Wielding Man Sought After Stealing Cash From Gas Station

Hundreds in cash stolen from Delta Gas Station on Rt. 23 Wednesday night.

Police are searching for a man who fled from the Delta Gas Station Wednesday night after allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars in cash while carrying a gun, Capt. Eric Wilsusen said.

At 9:39 p.m. Officer Tom Fedo of the Jefferson Township Police Department arrived at the gas station on Route 23 for a reported robbery involving a handgun, Wilsusen said, but when patrol units arrived, the alleged robber was gone.

Police are describing the person as a thin black male wearing a mask, is 5’6” tall and weighs approximately 140 lbs., Wilsusen said.

He took off with somewhere between $300 and $400 in cash, and there were no injuries in the incident, Wilsusen said.

The Morris County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and the incident is under investigation.
