Hopatcong All-Stars Show Their Strength

The Hopatcong Junior All-Star baseball team completed pool play with an impressive 5-1 record. They now advance to the double elimination round beginning on Tuesday after beating Vernon, 12-3, on Sunday.

Hopatcong’s bats remained hot as Tyler Robertson collected three hits. Jake Dorman, CJ Robertson and PJ Rodick each had two hits and Christopher Stundon smacked a double.

Brandon Vanderhoof, CJ Robertson, T. Robertson and Dorman each drove in two runs, and Christian Ammiano, Dalton Del Rosso and Rodick each contributed with one RBI.

The arms of Brennan Dickens, Dorman, Ben Carreno, Del Rosso and Rodick combined to hold Vernon to three runs in seven innings. Anthony Melillo made a key defensive play late in the game to end an inning.
