An up and down regular season has culminated with a 6-3 overall record, the No. 7 seed in the North 1, Group II playoffs, and a first round matchup at second seeded Ramsey on Friday at 7 p.m.
For Hopatcong -a team that hasn’t won a playoff game since 2006- Friday’s game against second seeded Ramsey (8-1) will take a strong effort, as the Rams head into this game with a defense that has four shutouts to its credit this season.
The Hopatcong offense will look to punish that Ramsey defense with heavy doses of running backs Austin Brown, Feyi Olugbenga up the middle, and change of pace back Johann Lara on the edge. The trio has combined for over 1500 yards this season, according to NJ.com.

The Hopatcong defense has two shutouts to its credit this season, along with three games in which it held the opposition to six points or less, and will have to be at its best to combat the offensive attack of Ramsey.
If Hopatcong advances past Ramsey, they’ll get set to face the winner of River Dell (3) vs. Ridgefield Park (6) in round two.
