If Matt Tobin needs inspiration at Division 2 East Stroudsburg University in the fall, he needs just to look for his older brother in the record books.
Mike Tobin, a 2007 Hopatcong High School graduate, was named All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East men's basketball second team after leading ESU to the conference semifinals for the second straight year.
Tobin, a 6-4 forward, was the Warriors' second-leading scorer and top rebounder for the second straight season, averaging 10.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He ranked second in the PSAC with 2.2 steals per game and 18th in rebounding, and his 62 steals are seventh-most in school history.

He scored in double figures in 15 games, including nine times against the PSAC East, and also pulled down at least five rebounds in 12 of the Warriors' 14 conference games. He was named to the All-Tournament team at the Pocono Classic with 12 points, 12 rebounds and five steals against Edinboro and 17 points, six rebounds and six steals against Felician.
As a junior, Tobin averaged 10.2 points and 7.2 rebounds on ESU's NCAA Division 2 Tournament team that won a share of the PSAC East title and set the school record with 24 wins. He had 790 points, 509 rebounds and 127 steals in his career as a four-year letterwinner and two-year starter and is tied for seventh in career steals.

He also had 120 assists, hit 26 three-pointers and blocked 25 shots. Tobin got to the foul line 257 times over the last two seasons and was a career 68.6 percent free throw shooter.
Tobin finished his Chiefs career with 1,594 points. He was a four-year starter.
