Hopatcong Man Gets 3rd NCAA Title Shot
Tom Masterson will compete for a Division III javelin crown.

A Hopatcong man will make his third straight trip to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Delaware Valley College senior Tom Masterson will compete for a national javelin title. Masterson finished third in the event last year after earning All-America honors.
Masterson notched the 13th-best javelin throw in all of Division III—top 20 qualify for nationals—with a toss of 203-5 at the Ursinus College Invitational in March. His event will take place on Saturday at 12:40 p.m. West Coast time.

Masterson's career has seen him win a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference championships in both the javelin and the high jump. He was battling an injury this season and only competed in the javelin where he took third.
Masterson graduated from in 2008.
