Hopatcong's Bats Come Alive in Win

Hopatcong’s bats came alive, pounding out 18 hits en route to a 13-9 victory over Kittatinny/Newton in Newton Friday night.

Hopatcong was led by Brennan Dickens, who went 4-for-4 with three RBI and PJ Rodick, Ben Carreno and CJ Robertson, who each had three hits.

Rodick also drove in three runs while Carreno and Brandon Vanderhoof drove in two and Dalton Del Rosso, Tyler Robertson and Christian Ammiano each knocked it one.

Starting pitcher Ammiano earned the win, getting help from Del Rosso and Dickens, who closed out the game.

Hopatcong also came up with some big defensive plays in the field, preventing further scoring chances for Kittatinny/Newton throughout the game.

With the victory, Hopatcong improved to 4-1.
