Hopatcong Warriors Ready for Fundraising Season

The weather's heating up. And so is the Hopatcong Warriors youth football organization.

The Warriors, one of the borough's biggest youth sports groups, have a bunch of events coming up soon. Aside from signups, the Warriors have been busy planning conjuring fundraising efforts.

Here's a look at what the organization has coming up:

FREE METAL RECYCLING
When/Where: July 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until full at the Department of Public Works parking lot in Hopatcong.
Why Go: Many people have junk metal or metallic products they don't need sitting around. Why not get rid of it for free? Residents will be able to recycle car rims, washers, dryers, bicycles, metal sheds, metal swing sets, BBQ grills, car parts, water heaters, metal desks, filing cabinets and more. The catch: Better get there early. The Warriors will only fill one container.

CHRIS ANDERSON "FIELD OF DREAMS" FESTIVAL
When/Where: July 30 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Fire Co. No. 3 in Hopatcong.
Why Go: Food. Refreshments. A dunk tank. Eight musical acts, from borough band Goodbye Friday to Who's Johnny? All that for $5? You better be there. Oh, and there will also be a motorcycle and car show. CHRIS ANDERSON MEMORIAL GOLF OUTING
When/Where: Sept. 15. Registration at 7:30 a.m. Shotgun start at 8 a.m. Location: Farmstead Golf & Country Club in Lafayette.
