The following is from Hopatcong Youth Wrestling.
This past weekend over 200 youth wrestlers from the K-6th North West Jersey Midget League battled in High Point High School for the league’s individual championships. Although Hopatcong only had 11 boys qualify, they all represented the program very well earning trophies and medals for their hard work this season.
Special congratulations to 80lbs Anthony Matroeni who completed the “dream season” of being undefeated and capturing 1st place in the league. He went a perfect 20-0 in the league while only giving up 4 pts all season! Way to go!

What the team lacked in quantity it certainly did not lack in quality. The team is very young mostly 3rd graders so we may see many of these boys back again in the following seasons.

The Hopatcong Youth Wrestling Board and parents are very proud of all our wrestlers. Special thanks to all our coaches that give our boys the time to shine on a big stage. Without the help of the coaches it would not be possible.
Please come out and support the Varsity Tri county team as they host rival Randolph at Hopatcong High School this evening 7pm. Its only the 2nd home match and they all could use your support in the stands.
