Hopatcong's Wrestling Future Looks Bright After All-Star Tournament
Bart Yarosz grabs gold medal, others perform well.
While Hopatcong will send Dan Haines and Miguel Burgos to Atlantic City for state wrestling championships this weekend, the Chiefs have seen the program's numbers dwindle over the last few years.
But if the Future Stars Tournament at West Morris Central High School on Feb. 20 was any indication, the Hopatcong Jr. Chiefs wrestling organization will soon feed the high school plenty of talented grapplers.
Bart Yarosz nabbed gold at 86 pounds. AJ Damelio, a 12-year-old who won his first match with a pin in 2:16, took fourth at 77 pounds. Anthony Rodrigueze nailed down fourth place at 93 pounds. Jack LaBrunda (sixth) and Sean Cranmer (seventh) also had strong showings.

On Sunday, Hopatcong will head to Fairlawn for state qualifying matches.
