Martinek Tells Football Team: Make the Right Choices (VIDEO)

After all the yards, touchdowns and accolades, Joe Martinek has more to give the Hopatcong High School football team: widsom.

Martinek, a Rutgers University running back, spoke to about 40 players on Thursday afternoon on a variety of topics. But mostly Martinek, entering his senior year with the Scarlet Knights, focused on the qualities that got him to Division I—hard work, determination and decision-making.

Martinek, whose brother, Mike, is a senior high jumper, also took questions from athletes, teachers and administrators. He will speak to middle school students on Friday morning. He on Wednesday.
