Hopatcong track and field star takes sixth at Division III NCAA Championships, ends illustrious Delaware Valley College career.

Tom Masterson completed one of the best track and field careers Delaware Valley College has seen when he earned his third straight All-American honor Saturday.

Despite battling an injury, the 2007 Hopatcong graduate took sixth place in the javelin with a 213-7 heave at the NCAA Division III Championships in California. Masterson, who took third at last year's championships fell just short of champion Tim Van Lieu of Rutgers-Camden, who threw 220-5.
