Oh, Baby: Hopatcong's Tiny Chief Makes Crowd Gush

From the looks of it, Matty Winnans doesn't have a choice—he'll be a Hopatcong Chief for life.

The stands at 's football field were rocking Thursday night.

But now and then the action would stop as gushing fans caught a glimpse of Hopatcong's littlest Chief.

Matthew Winnans and his girlfriend, Kathleen Caffrey, dressed up their son, Matty, like an Indian chief before the to Pequannock. The pair were already full of school spirit. Caffrey's daughter, Kaitlyn, is a sophomore marching band member.

"We wanted to make [Matty] the mascot," Winnans said.

The father said he and Kathleen went to a nearby costume store before the game and picked up the duds. And that Matty didn't have a problem showing off his borough pride.

"He's a great baby," Winnans said.

And a great-looking Chief.
