Secret Service Helping In Morris Counterfeit Investigation: Roxbury PD
Roxbury Police say the Secret Service is involved in a counterfeit currency investigation in Morris County after three people were arrested.
ROXBURY TWP., NJ — Roxbury Police say the Secret Service is involved in a counterfeit currency investigation in Morris County after three people were arrested last Friday.
The people, who have not been identified, were arrested and charged with money laundering, counterfeiting, forgery, and possession of forgery devices, police said.
Two detectives "observed individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior" on April 15 and began speaking with them, according to an RPD report.

"After a brief conversation it was apparent that the individuals had conflicting stories which warranted further investigation," police said.
A police sergeant, trooper, and patrol officer came to the scene to assist, RPD said.

"As the investigation continued, the five officers discovered that the three individuals were manufacturing counterfeit U.S. Currency in Roxbury Township," police said.
"The Secret Service was notified and assisted in the investigation, and it was determined the incident possibly warranted Federal Charges," police said. "Chief Adone commends these officers for initiating and executing this exceptional pro-active investigation that led to the arrest of 3 individuals."
Police and the Morris County Prosecutor's Office did not have any updates on this case as of Wednesday morning, representatives told Patch.
