Shane Sickles Picks FDU for Golf

Hopatcong's best golfer in years had pick of strong programs, decides to stay close to home.

One of 's brightest golf star will continue his career past graduation.

Shane Sickles signed a letter of intent to join Division III Fairleigh Dickinson's program recently. The senior has been a Chiefs stalwart, earning three straight team most valuable player awards while captaining the squad for two seasons and grabbing a pair of first-team Northwest Jersey Athletic Conference nods.

Sickles also drew attention from Felician College, Eckerd College and Adams State College, Athletic Director Tom Vara said.

Sickles nabbed a seventh-place finish in the Huterdon-Warren-Sussex Tournament last season.

Sickles joins Hunter Guard and Austin Brown as Chiefs to commit to playing college sports. Guard for basketball while at East Stroudsburg University.
