Should Soldiers be Allowed to Drink at 18?

Alaskan lawmakers mull dropping drinking age for military members. Good idea?

Old enough to fight for your country, old enough for a beer. At least that's what one Alaskan lawmaker thinks.

Republican Rep. Bob Lynn of Anchorage, a Vietnam veteran, recently introduced a bill that would let Alaskan military members under age 21 drink alcohol if they display an armed forces identification card. Those under age 19—Alaska and New Jersey's smoking age—would be able to buy tobacco products under the bill.

So, what do you think? Should military members be allowed to buy a shot if they're willing to get shot at for America?
