Softball: Six Strong Innings Not Enough for Hopatcong
Despite Jen Mazza's defense, Chiefs fall to Lenape Valley, 7-0.
IN SHORT
Hopatcong played six great innings against Lenape Valley. The problem: softball lasts seven innings. Take away a seven-run fourth inning and the game is a scoreless nailbiter. But with two outs and a runner on first, the Patriots exploded for seven runs with some help from key hits and two costly errors by Hopatcong. Lenape Valley won, 7-0

“We had six innings of good play today. We made a few errors, they got some key hits, all on two outs. Other than that inning, it’s a 0-0 game,” coach Gary Widdoss said.
