Softball: Despite Late Surge, Hopatcong Can't Hold On

Chiefs lose in six innings.

IN SHORT

Despite being down, 9-0, to Parsippany High School going into the bottom of the third inning, Hopatcong battled back, scoring four runs in the home half of the third to cut the Red Hawks' lead to five. But the errors kept adding up and the Chiefs were down, 16-4, going into the bottom of the sixth inning. They managed to score twice more but it was not enough to prolong the game to seven innings as Parsippany won on the 10-run mercy rule, 16-6.
