Softball: Hopatcong's Bats Come Alive

Chiefs whip Hackettstown, 13-4, at home.

Hopatcong came up with a great team effort against Hackettstown.

The top three hitters in Hopatcong's lineup were on fire in a 13-4 win over the Tigers on Monday afternoon at home. Taylor Tighe, Crystal Mastroeni and Kelsey Spaziani combined to go 6-for-10 with six runs scored, five walks and two stolen bases.

The heart of the line up was equally effective.

Kristen Toropiw, Courtney Stillwell and Kelsey Brennan drove in a combined eight runs and scored a combined four times. Not to be out done, the bottom of the line up kept the hits coming. Alex Sanzara, Jennifer Mazza and Antonette Rimas went 4-for-9 with an additional four walks.

As a team the girls were 13-for-29 with nine walks . It was by far the squad's best effort of the season. The girls will be looking to continue the hitting ways as against Sussex Tech on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at .
