Why Hopatcong Has 2 Quick Cheks
The franchise's vice president of sales says the answer's simple.

Why does Hopatcong have two Quick Cheks?
It's a question that seems to come up every now and then when discussing the borough. And its answer is pretty simple, said John Schaninger, the company's vice president of sales and marketing.
"If there's a demand for us and the response from the comment is there, we'll certainly have more than one in a town," he said Wednesday in a phone interview.

Schaninger said having two Quick Cheks in a single municipality is nothing new for the franchise, which owns 121 stores in New Jersey and New York. He said Hackettstown has three locations.
"When we're established in towns and there's a need, then we'll certainly look at having more than one Quick Chek in a specific town," Schaninger said.

Schaninger said he believes Hopatcong's older location on Hopatchung Road was around for about 30 years before the newer, Lakeside Boulevard spot opened a few years back.
He said Quick Chek never considered closing the older location due to an existing rental agreement with the Hopatcong Plaza's owners. "We would never leave a facility where we have a rental agreement," he said.
