Tobin (Hopatcong, N.J./Hopatcong), the brother of All-PSAC East forward Mike Tobin who led the Warriors to the PSAC semifinals in 2010 and 2011, gives ESU the first two PSAC East Freshman of the Week after guard Whis Grant was selected last Monday.

Tobin averaged 12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals, shot 57.9 percent from the floor, 63.6 percent (7-for-11) from the three-point line and was 8-for-8 from the foul line while playing 59 minutes over three games.

Tobin scored 21 points over the first two PSAC games of his career. He had nine points on 3-of-4 shooting (3-for-3 from the three-point line) in 13 minutes in a 90-89 win over Gannon, followed by 12 points (3-for-8 from the floor, 4-for-4 at the foul line), four assists, two steals and a block while playing 21 minutes in a 65-63 loss to Clarion.

He opened the week with 16 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the field and 4-for-4 from the foul line, along with four assists and three steals in a 107-53 win over PSU-Schuylkill on Tuesday.

Tobin, Grant and freshman forward Lamont Tillery combined for 37 percent of ESU's points last week as part of a strong incoming class that also includes center Kevin Anema. Grant leads the Warriors with 17.2 points per game, Tobin is fifth with 9.6 per game and Tillery has contributed 5.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game.

Tobin follows his brother to ESU after scoring 2,350 points, a Sussex County record, and earning third team All-State recognition at Hopatcong. He averaged 27 points per game as a senior and helped his team to consecutive North Jersey Athletic Conference championships.

Mike was ESU's second-leading scorer and top rebounder over the last two seasons and finished his career with 790 points, 509 rebounds and 127 steals as a two-year starter and four-year letterwinner. He averaged 10.2 points and 7.2 rebounds on ESU's 2010 NCAA Tournament team that set the school record for wins with a 24-6 record.
