VIDEO: Hopatcong Football Wins — in 1976!

If you remember Hopatcong in the 70s, you remember , and a lot less people.

Oh, you might also remember all green football uniforms.

That might be the first striking thing about this Youtube. The Chiefs have since opted to feature much more black and white in their uniform scheme.

But then you see there's not much different between Hopatcong football back then and now. Still lots of guts, sweat and, of course, fun.

This video takes place in Newton, according to the scoreboard, but it's unclear whom Hopatcong's playing against. We'll say it's Kittatinny, considering the uniforms.

41 seconds A Hopatcong punt returner fields an end-over-end kick, jukes off a defender and races up the left sideline for about 20 yards.

1:13 Hopatcong's quarterback escapes from the rush with a rollout to the left. His throw into double-coverage in the back of the end zone gets broken up.

2 minutes Despite a huge rush, the quarterback is able to drop back about 13 yards and hit the running back near the line of scrimmage, resulting in a couple positive yards.

2:32 TOUCHDOWN! After getting stuffed on QB sneak, an up-the-gut handoff gets it done, putting Hopatcong ahead, 6-0.
