VIDEO: Martinek Beyond the Facemask

A day before the Hopatcong football legend takes the field for his last Rutgers home game, check out the time he brought Rutgers cameras to his home.

Joe Martinek will play his last home game for Rutgers University on Saturday at noon.

His legend grew in Hopatcong, where he became the state's all-time leading high school rusher. It was solidified with the Scarlet Knights, where his team-first attitude and hard-nosed style helped land him starting running back and fullback spots.

Recently, however, Martinek wanted to give Hopatcong and Rutgers fans a closer look at his life. So he invited Scarlet Knights cameras Hopatcong. He took them to his home to speak with his father. He took them to Lake Hopatcong to meet his friends.
