Several top athletes have called Hopatcong home. But few have accomplished as much as Joe Martinek.

And while most in the borough are familiar with Martinek's exploits—owning the state's all-time high school rushing record, a state football title, a state javelin crown, a Division 1 scholarship—some may not know what drives the Rutgers senior fullback.

So, the Scarlet Knights recorded their "Meet the Team" segment with Martinek in June, asking the Hopatcong legend a few personal questions. Did you know he's got a game-day superstition? Do you know who's had the biggest influence on his life? Did you know there's a sport he enjoys playing not called football?
