WATCH: Silence in Hopatcong for 9/11
Hopatcong youth football pep rally stops to mark the 10th anniversary of the attacks.
It takes a lot to bring a Hopatcong pep rally to a halt. Remembering those lost in 9/11 was more than enough for hundreds at the high school.
General Manager John Young asked over the loudspeakers for the enthusiastic crowd to observe a moment of silence at 1 p.m. Sunday. A single Hopatcong fire department bell tolled as red, white and blue balloons were released into the sky, marking the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks that killed thousands.
