Hopatcong's New Year's Eve Bar Scene

A couple of places to check out when the ball drops.

Hopatcong isn't Manhattan. It's not even Morristown.

But there will be a couple of interesting places to hit on New Years Eve if you're looking to get out of the house to celebrate. And though KaBob's, which closed in November, won't be one of them, here's a look at some places to check out when the ball drops.

: Owner Paul Bogensberger said the Maxim Drive hotspot will offer hats, noise makers, reduced drink prices, food specials, a 6- to 8-foot sub at midnight and two entertainment acts from 6 p.m .to 1 a.m.

For a $65 reservation, you'll get a five-course meabl, champagne for a toast, a table all night—but not alcohol. Past 10 p.m. there will be a cover, and you'll get bar access. Pavinci's will be open until 3 a.m. and will feature entertainment from Groove, who will play classic rock.
