Woman Killed In Sparta In 2nd NJ Fatal Head-On Crash This Week

Three people have died in two fatal head-on crashes this week.

A woman died and three people were hurt in the second fatal head-on car crash in New Jersey this week, police said.

Ena Cordero, 62, of Newton was killed Tuesday after a white 2015 Nissan Altima driven by Sean Hubbard, 33, of Andover crossed over the double yellow lines on Newton-Sparta Road in Sparta, and then struck her black 2013 Honda Civic, according to police.

In the Sparta crash, Cordero suffered blunt force trauma as a result of the 7 a.m. accident, and officers initiated CPR at the scene, according to police. She was transported to Newton Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.

The crash resulted in extreme damage to both vehicles and injuries to all parties. Sparta Detectives and a Sparta accident reconstructionist were continuing with an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Both people in the other vehicle were injured, according to police. Hubbard suffered hip and leg injuries and was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.

Megan Miguel, 25, of Wharton, was transported to Newton Medical Center with superficial injuries, the police said.
