The two-year school is looking to fill spots on it Board of Trustees. Here's what you need to know about the selection process.
- You Need to Know What It Takes: The college is looking for the following qualities: independent judgment, distinction in their profession, knowledge of higher education and a commitment to serving the college.
- You Need to Know a Requirement: You must have lived in Sussex County for the past four years. You can't currently hold an elected office.
- You Need to Know Commitments: Expect to spend 10 to 20 hours per month performing trustee duties, which include appointing, supporting and evaluating the college president; guiding the college's mission; developing long-range plans; judging the college's educational programs; insuring fiscal viability and more.
- You Need to Know Application Information: Resumes should be accompanied with background information, a cover letter and job qualifications.
- You Need to Know Where to Apply: Send applications to SCCC Trustee Search Committee ℅ Sussex County Administrator at One Spring St., Newton, N.J., 07860. Applications will be reviewed by the search committee, county administrator and the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders.
