Jefferson Student Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist
One student from Jefferson was recognized for his high PSAT scores and overall academic achievement.

JEFFERSON, NJ — A Jefferson Township high schooler has been recognized for his academic excellence, by being named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists.
Liam Tedford, a Jefferson resident attending the Morris County School of Technology, has been named a semi-finalist.
All of the students nominated statewide earned some of the highest PSAT scores in New Jersey, as well as having an outstanding academic record, an endorsement by a high school official, and leadership abilities.

16,000 students nationwide (less than one percent of all high schoolers) were nominated for the 63rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. All nominees are in the running to win 7,500 scholarships worth over $32 million in the spring. Finalists will be announced in February, and scholarship winners are announced after that.
