Shell Shocked, the award-winning film documentary on the impact of violence on urban youth, will be screened at Unitarian Fellowship of Sussex County. Free and open to the public, the 54-minute film, which focuses on the youth in New Orleans, shows the kind of trauma from gun violence experienced in many cities across New Jersey. Immediately following the film, its director, John Richie, will participate in a discussion and field questions from the audience. The program is co-sponsored by the Sussex County Million Mom March Chapter of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence; the Church and Society Committee, Sparta United Methodist Church; and the Social Action Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Sussex County. Questions prior to the event may be directed to 609-882-3711 or mercermmm@gmail.com
Caution: This documentary could prove stressful to those who have experienced gun violence, especially those who have lost a loved one. Middle and high school students may attend at their parents' discretion.
