Cop Named 'Irish Officer Of The Year' Found Dead In Jersey City
An investigation into the death is ongoing.

A police detective was found dead at her home this week, a spokesman for the police union confirmed.
Detective Amy Hulings, once named the 2012 Jersey City St. Patrick's Day Parade Irish police officer of the year, was found dead in her apartment on Sunday, according to one of the city's police unions.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Hulings family," Detective Ed Dolan, president of the Jersey City Police Detectives' Benevolent Association, said on Facebook.

"We all knew Detective Amy Hulings in different ways and have our own special memories. Rest in peace, detective."
Details regarding her death were sketchy at press time, but the Hudson County View said it was not suspicious. Hulings was a member of the department for 19 years.

This was the third death of a Jersey City police officer this year. In January, Lt. Chris Robateau was struck and killed by a car on the New Jersey Turnpike, Mayor Steve Fulop said.
In March, Ramon Torres, 32, died about an hour after he was located in his first-floor residence at 340 Woodlawn Avenue in Jersey City. He was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound in his chest, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
