Flood Advisory Issued For High Tide In Hudson County: See When

Forecasters expect wind gusts and 1-2 inches of rain overnight in Hudson County, and issued a coastal flood advisory for a four-hour period.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service predicts heavy rain — 1 to 2 inches — overnight in Hudson County, which could lead to flooding in low-lying areas Saturday morning.

In fact, the NWS has issued a coastal flood advisory for 4-8 a.m. Saturday morning for Hudson County, as well as eastern Essex and eastern Union.

The NWS also said the wind direction could impact potential flooding.

Back in December, rains all night led to minor flooding near the Hoboken train station.

The NWS said for this Saturday: "Expect up to 1 1/2 feet of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding."

For Friday night, the NWS said: "Rain, mainly after 7 p.m. Temperature rising to around 44 by 3 a.m. Breezy, with an east wind 13 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible."
