JERSEY CITY, NJ — As officials in Jersey City and Hoboken continue clearing snow and ice from the streets, they have asked residents to move their cars.

On Monday, Ward D Councilman Jake Ephros said certain streets would be cleared in Jersey City Heights on Monday night.

"JC will be preparing for snow removal all along Palisade Ave and Central Ave," he wrote on social media. "JCPD will be announcing mandatory no parking rules this evening via loudspeaker up and down both avenues. You must move your car or risk towing."

In Hoboken, officials said that cars parked on Jackson Street between Newark and Ninth streets, and Harrison Street between Newark and Fourth streets, must move their cars by 6 p.m. Monday to allow overnight snow removal. Temporary No Parking signs have been posted.

Streets will re-open on a rolling basis, they said. The city says the operation should end by 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
