Manhunt After Hit-And-Run Driver Killed Comedian In Jersey City

A 16-year-old who may have been driving was caught, but 2 others involved in the police chase crash are missing. See videos below.

A widespread search is underway in New Jersey for two hit-and-run suspects whose car killed an up-and-coming comedian this week after a police chase, according to authorities. Video and photos were also released of the crash and the missing suspects (see below).

A 16-year-old who was the likely driver in the Tuesday crash has been arrested by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, authorities said.

Umar King, 33, whom NBC4 said is a FedEx worker and a hearing-impaired comedian, was waiting for a bus to get home from work about 5 a.m. on Tuesday when he was brutally struck and killed by a stolen SUV on John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, according to authorities.

An SUV apparently struck multiple parked cars before hitting the pedestrian, according the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.

"This is horrible," Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop said in a tweet. "Initial information is that it was a car pursuit by the (Hudson) County Sheriff’s Department. It is now being handled the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office."

King was struck by the vehicle in the area of Communipaw Avenue and John F. Kennedy Boulevard, causing numerous intersections in the area are closed, and Kennedy Boulevard was closed from Lexington to Communipaw avenues, authorities said.
