Triple Shooting In Jersey City Heights Came After Fight At Party: Councilman
A Jersey City Heights councilman said that a triple shooting over the weekend, which left one man dead, happened after a party.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — The triple shooting in Jersey City Heighs that left a 25-year-old man dead over the weekend started with an argument during a party, Ward D Councilman Yousef Saleh said Tuesday.
No suspects have been announced publicly in the fatal shooting of Freddie Posey of Jersey City on Sunday night. A man and woman were treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries that night, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
"Dear Heights Family," wrote Yousef J. Saleh in an updated statement on Tuesday, "In what appears to be an isolated incident that precipitated from an argument at a party in a dance studio, three people were shot."

He added, "I have been in constant contact with the officials so as to ensure the residents of the Heights are safe, that we have all the resources needed in Ward D, and that the suspects are brought to justice." (See the full text below.)

"This administration better take action in keeping the heights safe," wrote a commenter.
"My car was shot right where I was standing a few minutes before this shooting. Heights is getting dangerous," said a man responding on Facebook.

Posey was pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office.
A 30-year-old Jersey City woman was treated for an injury that is not considered life threatening. A third victim, a 24-year-old Jersey City man, was privately brought to University Hospital in Newark for a non-life threatening injury, prosecutors said.
Prosecutors said that at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of shots fired in the area of Central Avenue and Bowers Street.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating this matter. No arrests have been announced at this time.
