3 Fraud Cases, Including Fake Concert Tickets, In Lacey: Police

One victim purchased fraud tickets on her debit card and never received them, police said.

LACEY, NJ — Lacey police reported three separate cases of fraud Thursday in their weekly report. Here's what happened.

Fake Concert Tickets

A Lanoka Harbor resident fell victim to a fraudulent purchase. She purchased concert tickets on her debit card in April.

She never received the tickets, so she contacted the venue, which had no record of the transaction, police said. The tickets cost $573 and were deducted from the victim's bank account the day of the purchase, authorities said.

She reported the incident to police Sunday.

Counterfeit Check

A woman told police Sept. 6 that someone deposited a counterfeit check from her account into a New York bank. The check was worth $8,754.

Social Security Fraud

A woman was contacted by someone claiming to represent the Social Security Administration. This person told the victim her account was $800 in arrears, police said.

The subject convinced the victim to forward $800 in gift cards, police said. The victim reported the incident to police Tuesday.
