Lawrence Schools Consider Allowing Students to Use Own Tech Devices

Lawrence Township Public Schools considering whether to allow students to bring their own technology device to school and use for school-related activities.

The Lawrence Township Public Schools are investigating the idea of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) for students.

This means allowing students to bring in their own technology device such as laptops, tablets, and e-readers and use them for school related activities. School related activities could include taking notes, doing research, creating projects, writing reports, taking assessments, etc.

Schools around the country are investigating and implementing this as a way to help include the technology in the classrooms. Students like such programs because they are able to use a device of their choice and technology that they are familiar with since it is their own.
