Notre Dame High School Teacher Charged With Child Sexual Assault Put on Leave

Lawrenceville, NJ -- A teacher at Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest on charges of child endangerment, the school announced Tuesday morning.
Edmund J. Harman, 26, is charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal sexual contact, Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri and Lawrence Township Police Chief Mark Ubry said earlier in the day.
He was arrested at his home in Franklin Township on Monday following a joint investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the Lawrence Township Police Department. His bail was set at $150,000.

"We are deeply concerned about allegations that have been made against a Notre Dame High School teacher this week," the school said in a statement. "We are fully cooperating with the Lawrence Township Police Department and with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office with regard to the investigation."
Harman allegedly fondled a female student when she came into school early to earn extra credit sometime in February. He also kissed the back of her neck, massaged her back and legs and told her to send him naked pictures of herself, authorities allege.

He is a kinesiology teacher at the school, according to his LinkedIn page. He is also the track and field coach at the Diocese of Trenton School, according to nj.com.
