2 Nabbed After Livingston Police Spot 'Suspicious' Vehicle At 4 AM

Two men were charged with resisting arrest and other offenses last week after Livingston police spotted them driving at 4 a.m.

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Two men from Staten Island were arrested in Livingston last week after a police officer on patrol spotted a suspicious vehicle.

Police said that at 4 a.m. on Feb. 9, an officer saw the vehicle on Notch Hill Drive. He attempted to stop it, but the vehicle took off, police said.

However, police found the vehicle in the parking lot of Shop Rite.

There, police said, the people in the car were attempting to get into an Uber to leave.

Police arrested Cyrus Cooper, 18, and James Christian, 20, from Staten Island.

Cooper was charged with eluding, possession of burglary tools, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and multiple motor vehicle violations, and released on a summons.

Christian was charged with possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest and released on a summons, police said.

Vehicle Doing 'Donuts'

Three days later, another officer patrolling in the wee hours made another arrest of a man from New York state.

On Sunday, Feb. 12, at 1:40 a.m., a Livingston officer observed vehicles in the vacant parking lot of a Peach Tree Hill Rd business doing “donuts."

When the officer attempted to stop one of the vehicles, it failed to stop for him and took off, police said.

The officer was able to locate the vehicle in a dead end by the Regency Club and get the vehicle stopped, police said.

The driver, Kornil Pascal, 23, from Rosedale, NY, was placed under arrest and charged with eluding and multiple motor vehicle violations, police said, and released on a summons.
