Livingston Police Will Hold Community Block Party: Food, Rides, Family Friendly Activities (patch.com) — Livingston residents are invited to the Police Department's Third Annual Community Block Party on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Oval, featuring free food, rides, games and hands-on safety demonstrations. Partnering with Youth Appreciation Week and the Livingston Fire Department, the event aims to strengthen ties between neighbors and first responders while showcasing local emergency vehicles and community organizations.
   

2. Former Newark Academy wrestling coach charged with sexually assaulting 15-year-old (news12.com) — A former Newark Academy wrestling coach with ties to the Livingston Youth Wrestling Program has been charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old in a parking lot at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Prosecutors say the alleged assault happened in April and that the coach previously worked with several local organizations, including the township of Livingston. School officials stress the incident did not occur on campus or involve a Newark Academy student.
   

3. Jewish businessmen Joshua Kushner, Bob Iger buy Los Angeles Lakers for record $12.5b (jewishnewsva.org) — Livingston gets a notable shout-out as the hometown of billionaire investor Joshua Kushner and the site of the Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, named for his grandfather. Kushner and Disney veteran Bob Iger are teaming up to buy the Los Angeles Lakers in a record-setting $12.5 billion deal, adding to a growing list of major NBA franchises with Jewish ownership ties.
   

4. Feds accuse ex-Bank of America investment banker and friend of insider trading (charlotteobserver.com) — A Livingston resident and former senior Bank of America investment banker is accused by federal regulators of leaking confidential deal information that allegedly helped a friend make about $18.5 million in stock profits. The SEC's lawsuit centers on trades in South Jersey Industries shares ahead of a 2022 acquisition announcement, and seeks penalties, profit clawbacks, and officer-and-director bans. Both men deny providing or using illegal inside information.
